30 July – 8 August
After an enforced interlude, Summer Jamboree International Festival of 40s and 50s American Music and Culture is back.
This year will be different to all the others (for obvious reasons), but just as eagerly anticipated (if not more!) and full of life as ever.
As always, the Summer Jamboree # 21 programme is packed with concerts with free admission, and has all the right ingredients to cook up a storm! Firm favourite the Burlesque, Cabaret, Music and Dance Show at the Teatro La Fenice is on the menu to add sparkle and spice to the hot summer night.
The Dance Show is back with a bang, with a band of international swing dance champions.
There is also good news for tattoo fans and old school enthusiasts; the Walk-in Tattoo is back with 3 days of non-stop old school tattoos at the Rotonda a Mare.
The event will feature an exhibition on the history of the traditional tattoo, with original designs belonging to an extensive and prestigious private collection.
And all three dates (from 30 July to 1 August) will be accompanied by the smooth sounds of an Easy Listening Record Hop.
For vintage car lovers, there will of course be the Oldtimers Park complete with stunning pre-1969 American automobiles.
The Rockin’ Village Vintage Market (from 30 July to 8 August) will be heaven on earth for vintage shoppers.
Located in Piazza del Duca and Rocca Roveresca from 17:00 to 01:00, and overflowing with treasures just waiting to be found.
There you can find: sought-after vintage clothing and you-can-hardly-tell-the-difference repro, t-shirts, and 40s and 50s inspired accessories such as shoes, hats, Hawaiian shirts, swimwear, glasses, even musical instruments, vinyl records, all kinds of paraphernalia, vintage posters and postcards, license plates, gadgets, and collectibles.
This year the free live concerts (with limited seating), will all take place on one stage in Piazza Garibaldi, which will become the beating heart of the Festival 2021.
Every year the Summer Jamboree offers the opportunity to experience not only the music, but also the culture of a golden age, to really show the extent of the phenomenon that is Rock’n’Roll. As such, the 2021 edition will be enriched by two special events.
The first is the preview screening of the documentary “Rock’n’Roll is a State of the Soul” (Monday, 2 August at the Gabbiano Arena), coming off the back of the exhibition that celebrated the 20th edition of the Festival in 2019.
The second is a new exhibition of international calibre organised by Summer Jamboree. This year it is the turn of prestigious photography exhibition “WOMEN” (Palazzetto Baviera from 17 June to 26 September) dedicated to the work of the great Milton H. Greene, American photographer and film producer, and great friend and business partner of Marilyn Monroe.
Produced by diChroma photography and curated by Anne Morin, the event extends the union between the Summer Jamboree and “Senigallia city of photography”.
The Hottest Rockin’ Holiday on Earth awaits you from 30 July to 8 August.
