Burlesque show and cabaret

28/07/2021

Wednesday, 4 August
Teatro La Fenice – 21:30

The Burlesque and Cabaret Show at the Summer Jamboree 2021 is set to be one sizzling hot evening.

Famous names and international guests are set to take to the Summer Jamboree XXI stage in a whirlwind of glitter, giggles, dance, and contagious joy.

A female tour de force that promises an unforgettable night in to-die-for vintage style.

The stage will be graced by renowned professionals of this niche art form that originated in the Victorian era.

For starters, shining star Janet Fischietto, confirmed Burlesque royalty, and queen of period circus style aesthetic.

She embodies the exotic beauty of the tattooed women of vintage freak shows, and her performances (music and costume included) are the perfect depiction of “Circus Burlesque from the 20s/30s”.

The stage will then host the irrepressible Peekaboo, with legs that start today and end next week, as they revive the Golden Age of the Chorus Girl with an authentically kick-tastic choreography.

This chorus-line troupe embodies the glamorous and elegant style of the showgirls of the 30s and 40s as they perform perfectly in-sync routines dressed in their vintage best.

It’s hard to believe, but the show will then up the energy levels even more with a Charleston performance by Valeria Bonfante; dancing from the age of 5, and trained in classical and modern dance, it was only a matter of time before she discovered her ‘swing soul’ and added tap, boogie woogie, lindy hop, rockabilly, jive, and charleston to her repertoire.

And that’s not all. To keep your feet a-tappin’ between one mind-blowing performance and another, an array of international swing dancers (world champions and world-class teachers no less) will strut their stuff and show you how to really cut a rug.

Accompanying the dizzy delights of the evening will be the much-loved house band The Good Fellas with special guest singer, Blind Rats vocalist: Simone “Sugar Daddy”.

The Good Fellas, better known as the Gangsters of Swing, have been on the international circuit for over 25 years.

Summer Jamboree’s house band, tag-line band for restaurant chain American Graffiti, and go-to support band for Italian comedians Aldo, Giovanni & Giacomo, Cochi & Renato, Paolo Cevoli, and Raoul Cremona. They play the classics of Frank Sinatra, Louis Prima, and Fred Buscaglione, and have shared a stage with Ben E.King, James Burton, and practically every other rockin’ artist still in the business.

The Burlesque and Cabaret Show awaits you on Wednesday, 4 August at the Teatro La Fenice, from 21:30 to 23:00.
