Jimmy started playing the guitar when he was so young that by the age of 17, he was already considered an expert playing in the Baton Rouge neighbourhood of his hometown in Louisiana. By 18, he was the leader of what was considered one of the best R’n’B bands on the Gulf Coast, ‘The Rockets’. By 1958 he was signed to Ace Records and had made his first appearance on the famous tv show “American Bandstand”. His song “Just A Dream” became a national success and Jimmy was an overnight sensation. Other hits followed, including: “Another Sleepless Night”, “Go, Jimmy, Go” and of course “Venus In Blue Jeans”. He’s made Rock’n’Roll film history and is recognised in more than one musical ‘Hall of Fame’. From the off, Jimmy has always been a highly esteemed artist, and he continues to thrill audiences the world over to this day.
