Lindy Hop is a partnered Swing dance that was born in Harlem in the late 1920s and is synonymous with the Swing era and dance halls (and indeed street corners!) of the 1930s & 1940s. After it’s revival in the 1980s and 1990s its popularity exploded worldwide, and over the years it has developed many different styles. It is danced to many styles of music, not just jazz, and is very social and improvisational in nature.
