Remy & Sarah (FRA)
World Champions in Boogie Woogie 2006, Sarrah and Remy can look back on a successful career as Boogie Woogie competition couple.
Both have started dancing as little kids and came across the Boogie Woogie through several versions of the Rock'n'Roll.
Since 6 years they have been dancing as a couple and share an extraordinary feeling with each other - Remy, as a passionate dancer by heart with an instinct for the swing and Sarrah, who can dance with glamour whatever she is lead.
|
Their dance style is characterised by a lot of energy, a mixture of several dance styles as well as a "certain piece of spice" given by their personality.
They have opened their Boogie for the West Coast Swing, the Lindy Hop, the Charleston and of course also the Hip Hop which allows them to perform to a mix of modern music well combined with the good old rockin' beat.
For them, the most important things in Swing dances are: how to lead and follow (of course) but most of all "having fun", "having good times" and "express instead of impress"
Keep curious to get an insight into their secret to their very individual style which they will be pleased to open up for you.
Explore the Bermuda-Triangle of the dance: Leader - follower and the music!

Robert & Claire (ENG)
Authentic Lindy Hop & Jitterbug from the ‘30s, ‘40s & ‘50s.
Teachers, Performers, Choreographers.
Robert & Claire formed their dance partnership since 1991.
They teach and promote authentic Lindy Hop - from the original Charleston based dance from Harlem in the 19020s & '30s, through to the “Hollywood” style of 1940’s Los Angeles and the early Rock ‘n’ Roll of the 1950s.
Robert and Claire are keen to preserve the original styling of Lindy Hop, whilst incorporating the concept of “best practice” into their teaching techniques. |
 |
|
Their emphasis, at all times, is to understand how Lindy Hop evolved ergonomically in response to the music of the period and the importance of how good basic technique and lead & follow can make your dancing look and feel better.
Robert & Claire are also artistic directors and choreographers of “The Hollywood Hoppers” - a London based Lindy Hop performance group.
They have won and placed in a variety of dance contests including:
1st - UK Lindy Hop Championships 1994

They have worked as choreographers and dancers in film and theatre and were featured in the chart-topping pop videos “Murder on the Dance Floor” (Sophie Ellis Bextor) and “A Little less Conversation” (Elvis vs. JXL).
Already in 2008 they have worked as dancers and choreographers on two films, acted as Lindy Hop consultants on the hit show “Into The Hoods” in London’s West End and performed to an audience of over 15,000 women (wearing only their bras - that's the audience not Robert & Claire) at the Playtex Moonwalk for Breast Cancer.

They have since 2001 competing in all bigger championships,
they joined the swedish national team in 2002 and they are
still members and active competitors.
They like to see “the music reflect in the dance” and would describe their own style like old school with cool variations and a lot of feeling.
When they teach they are often having a good time and they like to spread that feeling to the people in the class, a lot of energy and lots of fun!
They have won the swedish championships both in junior and in main class and in the european championship they finished second in 2008.
Since some time back they have also been frequently teaching at dance events such as “Boogie Baeren”, “Boogie Mania” and Moscow Swing Dance Camp to mention a few. |
